Twin Motors Thompson has an immediate opening for an experienced Building Maintenance Assistant to join our successful dealership. Summary:
Reporting to the Building Maintenance Technician, the Building Maintenance Assistant supports the maintenance team with general building upkeep, basic repairs, and entry-level construction tasks. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in maintenance and renovations. The successful candidate is dependable, willing to learn, and takes pride in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs
Support entry-level construction work, including helping build simple structures and assisting with renovations
Help with general cleaning and upkeep of the building and surrounding property
Support snow clearing and removal during winter months
Assist with landscaping and yard maintenance, including basic fencing repairs
Help inspect equipment and report any issues to the supervisor
Carry tools, materials, and supplies as needed for maintenance and construction work
Perform routine checks of the property and notify the team of any concerns
Follow instructions from the supervisor and work as part of a team
Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Continuous Learning & Improvement:
We are committed to our employee’s continuous learning and development and as such, training is provided through orientation, self-assessments, coaching sessions and demonstrations with managers.
The Ideal Requirements:
Willingness to learn basic maintenance, construction, and repair skills
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks on time
Comfortable using basic hand tools (training provided)
Good work ethic and reliability
Basic understanding of workplace safety and use of PPE (training provided)
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
Attention to detail and a positive attitude
Valid driver’s license is an asset but not required
